Golf & Spa Travel Writer — Golf Spa Escapes
I started Golf Spa Escapes because I noticed a gap that nobody was really talking about.
Not every couple is made up of two golfers. Sometimes one partner wants to be on the course for five hours, and the other wants absolutely nothing to do with that. And honestly? That's fine. The best resorts in the world have figured this out — they've built incredible spa programs specifically because they know half their guests would rather be in a treatment room than on the back nine.
Even when both people in a couple play golf, a spa day after a round is genuinely one of the best ways to end a trip. Post-round recovery, a massage, an afternoon by the pool — it's not an either/or. The resorts I cover do both exceptionally well.
When I started researching golf and spa travel, most of the content I found was either purely golf-focused (handicap this, course rating that) or purely wellness-focused. Very little was written for the couple who wants both, or for the golfer who travels with a non-golfer and needs the resort to genuinely cater to both of them.
Golf Spa Escapes covers over 60 resorts worldwide — from Pebble Beach and Gleneagles to Rosewood Mayakoba and Kauri Cliffs — with detailed breakdowns of both the golf and the spa at each property. My goal is to give you enough information to actually make a decision, not just inspire wanderlust.
Each post covers the golf in real terms — course difficulty, designer, standout holes, what to expect for different skill levels. Then the spa side: treatment menus, facilities, what makes this particular spa worth the trip. And the resort itself: rooms, dining, what a typical day looks like, and who this property is actually best suited for.
The weekly newsletter is where I share things that don't fit neatly into a blog post — a deal worth knowing about, a hidden gem course, an insider tip I picked up along the way. One email per week, no filler. Subscribe here if that sounds useful.
The Golf Spa Escapes podcast is an audio companion to the blog — destination deep dives, travel tips, and conversations about the golf and spa travel world. Available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and wherever you listen.
